Effective 7 October 2026
A little care for your details.
This privacy policy explains how Thought of You handles personal information for our Australian waitlist. It is written around the Australian Privacy Principles. Contact us at [email protected].
What you share with us
When you join, we collect your name, email address, Australian postcode, preferred membership tier, optional partner’s birthday month and your consent to storing these details and receiving launch news. We also record the signup time. You can use a preferred name and leave the birthday month blank. Without the required details and consent, we cannot add you to the waitlist.
We never ask for your partner’s contact details on the waitlist. Please do not send their name, email, phone number, address, full birth date or sensitive information.
Why we collect it
We use your details to manage the waitlist, avoid duplicate signups, understand interest in the proposed tiers and plan Australian delivery coverage. The optional birthday month helps us understand seasonal demand. We may email you news about our launch. Every launch email will include an unsubscribe option; you can also ask us to stop by email at any time.
Your IP address is used briefly in server memory to limit repeated submissions. Our hosting provider may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and request times, to operate and protect the site. We do not add IP addresses to the waitlist file.
Storage, sharing and security
When staff notifications are enabled, new waitlist sign-up details (first name, tier, postcode, optional birthday month and email) are sent as a notification to our own staff notification service. This helps our staff manage launch interest. It does not send an email or message to you or your partner. Only authorised staff can read these notifications.
Your waitlist information is stored on our hosting provider's servers. Access is limited to people who need it to manage the waitlist, and service providers who need it to host and protect the site. We take reasonable steps to protect information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including restricted file access and protected backups.
Hosting or support may involve processing overseas. We will take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas provider protects your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. Contact us for the current hosting arrangements.
We do not sell personal information or share it for third-party marketing. We may disclose information if required or authorised by law. If a new use requires your consent, we will ask first.
Optional website analytics
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) runs only when enabled by our site configuration. When enabled, it collects page views, website interactions, browser and device information, approximate location and a successful waitlist signup event containing only the selected tier. We do not send your name, email, postcode or birthday month as analytics event parameters.
GA4 uses first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_ identifiers, to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google processes IP addresses to derive approximate location but does not log or store individual IP addresses in GA4. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our configuration. Analytics information is processed by Google and may be processed overseas.
You can opt out using Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Deleting cookies alone does not prevent future collection. Read Google’s data safeguards for more information. When analytics is not enabled, we do not load GA4 or set its cookies. Fonts are served by this site. Joining the waitlist does not create an account or take a payment.
Access, correction and deletion
Email [email protected] to see the information we hold about you, correct it, withdraw consent or ask us to delete your waitlist entry. We may need to verify your identity using only what is reasonably necessary. There is no charge to request access or correction. We aim to respond within 30 days. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain why and how you can complain.
We keep waitlist information only while needed for launch planning and the updates you agreed to receive, unless retention is required by law. We will delete or de-identify it when no longer needed. Deleted information may remain in restricted backups until those backups are replaced; it will not be used for marketing and deletions must be reapplied if a backup is restored.
If something does not feel right
Send your privacy complaint to [email protected], with enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge it, review what happened and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response, or we have not responded within that time, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), which can explain your options and whether it can investigate.
Changes to this policy
We will publish changes here with an updated effective date. If our handling of your details changes materially, we will let you know before using them in a new way. You can read the Australian Privacy Principles on the OAIC website.
